The Higher Ground chair is a great new way for you to stay healthy and active while you work and play. With its patented design, it supports active sitting, comfort, and mobility.

The chair is finished with an environmentally-friendly transparent varnish, with the pieces cut from a single sheet of sustainably sourced pine plywood. This makes the chair stronger than typical screwed and glued construction.

Worth it!

I took a leap of faith on ordering this chair and I am glad I did! Other reviewers have said they think its overpriced and I understand where they are coming from but I did reach out to the company to ask about the materials and they responded immediately that the cushion is latex wrapped in organic cotton, there are zero PFAs in the construction, and a simple clear coat on the wood. There was absolutely zero smell or off gassing when I opened the package. It costs money for a small company to source sustainable and high quality materials so in my opinion the price is very much justified. I ordered from Canada and shipping was quick and very reasonably priced. It is super solid and easy to put together. I don't think there is any else like it out there - the angle adjustment is awesome. I did have to raise my desk higher, so measure properly or make sure that you have a height adjustable desk. Overall I am thrilled with my purchase!

So much more movement and versatility

So much more movement and versatility with the Higher Ground chair. My body is thanking me for moving more during long photography editing sessions. I love that the seat position can change to allow for a variety of hip positions.

Wonderful!

Finally, a "chair" that does me good, not harm. My hips are so tight due to my sedentary desk job, a long commute, and limited time to stretch. It's so uplifting to sit on this chair and feel like I'm doing something good for myself. I'm excited to see how much I loosen up over time, and how this rolls over into the non-sedentary parts of my life.

(Attention cat lovers- there's room for your furry friend, too!)

Craftsmanship is great- no tear out, well-sanded. I really like that the chair can be disassembled when not in use. It comes with adhesive-backed anti-slip "stickers" to place on the bottom surfaces, avoiding floor scratches. The cushion from Bean Products is of excellent quality- no bottoming out despite it being thin.

Get one!

Chairs are uncomfortable for me so I usually sit cross legged in them (if there is room). I can't sit like that in office chairs, (they usually have arms), so I'm trapped in one position. My day is spent fidgeting and I leave work with a backache.

For those reasons and more, this chair is PERFECT for me. When I ordered it I was concerned that it would be too short to work ergonomically with my desk. But it wasn't.

I didn't buy the cushion because I have a Zabuton that collects dust. The fit is fine but I will order a cushion with my next chair. Like other reviews I've read, I plan on buying a few more of these to have around the house.

Get one, you won't be disappointed.
